John F. Noel Jr., 79, of Titusville passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on November 16, 1944, in Titusville to the late John F. Sr. and Florence Butler Noel. He married Donna Blackburn on August 9, 1964, in Millington Tennessee.
He was a graduate of Millington Central High School, class of 1962. After high school he attended Tennessee Tech University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in History.
He was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps for six years. He served in the Vietnam conflict and was honorably discharged in 1970. After the service, he was employed at Quaker State Oil for over 27 years. He retired in 1997 as the President of Quaker State Oil, Canada Division.
John was a member of the Marine Corps League, Titusville Rod and Gun Club and the Ruff Grouse Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as his cabin at Lyman Run, Potter County Pa. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and loved watching them play sports. He loved the outdoors and taking care of his property.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years; 2 daughters, Shannon King and husband Ernest of Louisa Virginia, and Holly Hildebran and husband John of Titusville; 4 grandchildren, Jonathan Jackowicz and wife Jessica of Palmyra Virginia, Noel Jackowicz of Louisa Virginia, Sophie Varndell of Northbrook Illinois, and Bailey Varndell of Titusville; a brother-in-law, William Vincent Gollehon and wife Brenda of Albemarle North Carolina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps League Scholarship Fund in care of Titusville High School, 302 E. Walnut Street, Titusville, PA 16354. Other memorial gifts can be sent to the Lyman Run State Park Group at https://ppff.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/ppff/donation.jsp?campaign=559.
No public visitation or service will be observed. A celebration of life will be held privately by the family.
