Howard Burdick Obituary

Howard F. Burdick, 77, of Titusville, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Howard was born on November 18, 1946, in Union City to the late Harold F. and Dorothy Brown Burdick. He married Diane Ahl on February 4, 1967, in Corry.

Howard was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1965.

He worked at Cytemp Specialty Steel Corp. until the plants closed and then for Universal Stainless until his retirement.

Howie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing. He always tried to make people smile or laugh. He was the life of the party, popping buttons off shirts and catching his pants on fire. He was a great neighbor taking many of them to their appointments and forming lifelong friendships. If you came to his house for any reason, you were immediately considered family.

He loved playing cards with his family. He loved a full house of people and telling many "stories". He was an avid Browns fan who patiently waited for a win. He also won the award for being the best grumpy old man, but deep down he had a heart of gold. He was Papa to many grand-dogs and has two special cats at home. He will be missed by so many.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Frensensius Kidney, for taking the best care of our Howie.

Howard is survived by his wife Diane of Titusville; four daughters, Kathleen Devlin and husband Randy of Titusville, Nicole Persing and husband Brett of Titusville, Emily Burdick of Titusville, and Sara Burdick and companion Kendis Crawford of Erie; seven grandchildren, Olivia Burdick, Thria Devlin, Randall Devlin, Joshua Devlin, Ava Crawford, Miles Buchanan, and Gabrielle Buchanan; his bonus granddaughters, Ryan Hoffman and Shi Rumbaugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Joseph M. Burdick.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday, March 21st from 5 to 7 p.m.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
