Obituary of Betty Sleeth
Mrs. Betty D. Sleeth, 88, formerly of 42181 Thompson Run Rd. Titusville, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 7:30 AM at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville.
Betty was born on December 9, 1929 in High Point, NC, to the late William C. and Idell S. Sanders Darby. She married Maurice “Mauri” Sleeth on June 5, 1954 in High Point, NC. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2010.
She was a graduate of High Point High School and had attended Indiana University.
Betty was a homemaker, and was a member of the Titusville Hospital Auxiliary, Titusville Garden Club, and was a board member for the YWCA. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
She was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and attended Bible study.
Betty is survived by three children; Michelle S. Perozek and husband Thomas of Highland Heights, OH, Col. (Retired) Denette L Sleeth of Colorado Springs, CO, and James D. Sleeth and wife Tonya of Lafayette, CO; three grandchildren, Sam Perozek and wife Grace, Michael Perozek, and Brandon Turner; one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William E. Darby and an infant brother James Darby; four sisters, Fredda Irwin, Hazel Allred, Sarah Nicola, and Marie Marsh.
Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 6 to 8PM. A funeral service will be conducted from the Titusville First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 10 AM with Rev. Norma Prina-Murphy, officiating.
Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
