Obituary of Ernest Stuck

Ernest L. “Ernie” Stuck, 82, of Titusville, passed away peacefully Monday evening April 9, 2018 at UPMC Hamot in Erie one month before his 83rd birthday.

            The son of the late Anna Clevenger, Ernie was born in Erie and grew up in the Crawford county communities of Meadville and Titusville.  He married Helen Phillis on Nov. 21, 1959 in Titusville and together they raised five children.

            Ernie had been employed at the former Joy Manufacturing in Franklin as a tool maker and finish worker.  He had recently been employed in the maintenance department at the Titusville Apartments until his retirement.  His career was varied and his work was constant as he enjoyed staying productive.

            In retirement, Ernie enjoyed socializing daily with his inner circle of coffee drinkers at McDonalds and often riding twenty miles a day on the bike trail that began at Drake Well Park.  He also enjoyed golfing, small game and archery hunting, hiking, and photography.  He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, as well as the Penn State Nittany Lions.

            Ernest Lamont is survived by his wife Helen of Titusville; five children, Anna Marie Slagle of Titusville, Jon Eric Stuck and wife Tamara of Pittsburgh, Donald Lamont Stuck of Titusville, Pamela Jane Krepps and husband Paul of Titusville, and Kimberly Lynn Schwab and husband Jeff of Bradford; the following grandchildren, Marie Crouch and husband Michael, Daniel Crouch and wife Jessika, Bryan Crouch, Ranae Faudoa and husband Jesus, Kathryn Stuck Boyd and husband Nate, Erica Stuck Helton and husband Rob, Curtis Stuck, Taylor Krupitzer, Jenna Kaczmarek and husband Preston, Carly and Olivia Stuck, Kelsey, Kaylee, and Joshua Krepps, Alishia McDonald and husband James, and Elizabeth Miller and husband Matt; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Clevenger and wife Jean of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and on Sunday from 1 to 2 PM at which time a celebration of Ernie’s life will begin.
